It was during the life of a 1500’s Bishop of Geneva, Saint Francis de Sales, that the cleric remarked, “We should bloom where we are planted.” This is to say we need to grow and flourish despite whatever circumstances we face and be fruitful while making the best of life even when it is hard.
As we roam the West Virginia countryside, we are reminded over and over again what beauty can be had as we examine the many blossoming shrubs and flowers that fill our yards and valleys. And, we are inspired to develop beauty within ourselves and share our talents throughout the land. Blooming, likewise, and spreading positive positions that, also, make dramatic views for those around us.
Whether we provide leadership for prosperity or direction for our friends and families, the fact that we are participating in our communities and volunteering required skills to make them more inviting and productive insures them more elegance and desirability.
Every springtime can renew our hopes that leaders will emerge to teach and direct others in positive directions. We are certainly correct to let all the beauty around us initiate vision, work, and planning for a better future.
So, smell the lilac or honeysuckle and let the aroma provide a wonderful sensation. Let it be uplifting and convince you that this season, so full of loveliness, is a God-given message to thank you for all you contribute while encouraging all of us to continue blooming wherever we have decided to put our roots.
Let us keep our visions of this miraculous time to help us continue marching forward and toward greater times of peace and prosperity for all.
