BECKLEY — Tumble Time gymnasts from Randolph County competed in the West Virginia State Gymnastics meet in Beckley March 15-17.
Friday began with the Silver level gymnasts. Addison Smyton successfully completed her bar routine, earning an eighth-place finish.
Lena Purdy had a consistent meet, placing fourth on Vault, Bars and Floor. Braelyn Haddix tied for fourth place on Vault and Floor.
Ava-Lynn Paugh shined on Floor, taking home a Bronze medal. Emery Purdy earned Bronze medals in Vault, Beam, and All Around, and a Silver medal on Uneven Bars.
Maggie Thompson placed third in All Around and second on Balance Beam. Daisy Simmons earned a Bronze medal on Floor, Silver medals on Vault and All Around and is the State Champion on Uneven Bars.
Kinsley Ricottilli placed third on Balance Beam, second on Floor and is the State Champion on Uneven Bars and the All Around Silver State Champion.
Sophie Miller competed as the first HUGS (Hope Unites Gymnastics with Special athletes) athlete in the state of West Virginia. She is the Emerald level State Champion in Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and All Around.
Gold Gymnasts rounded out Friday night. Jillian Chenoweth placed fifth on Vault and Beam. Anna Miller took home a Bronze medal for her routine on Balance Beam.
Elizabeth Dale placed second on Vault, earning a Silver medal. Emersyn Biller had a strong meet, placing second on Balance Beam and All Around. Eva Collier placed third on Vault and is the State Champion on Uneven Bars.
On Saturday evening, Platinum gymnast Vivienne Shepherd competed, earning a season-high Vault score and placing fifth on Floor with her “Ghostbusters” routine.
Finishing out the meet on Sunday were Bronze gymnasts. Claire McCloud had a strong Beam routine, placing sixth.
Everly Casto competed on her birthday, showing off her Bar skills, earning seventh place. Lilly Bosely took home a Bronze medal on the Balance Beam.
Maci Hutton placed third on Vault, Beam, Floor and All Around, and second on Uneven Bars. Five-year-old Madi Hutton earned Bronze medals for Bars and All Around, and Silver medals for Vault, Beam, and Floor.
Sara Cochran earned a Bronze meal on Bars, a Silver medal on All Around and is the State Champion on Vault, Beam and Floor.
Ella Shifflett earned second place on Vault, Bars, and Beam. Ella is the State Champion on Floor and the Bronze All Around State Champion.
Overall, Tumble Time took 23 gymnasts to the West Virginia State Championship meet. These 23 girls brought home 18 Bronze medals, 17 Silver medals and 14 Gold medals.
Additionally, Eva Collier, Elizabeth Dale and Emersyn Biller qualified as All Around Gymnasts, and Vivienne Shepherd qualified as a Beam and Floor Specialist for the Region 7 Championship meet in May.
